    S/Ldr William K. BIRCH - OBE - 74363 - the Bedfordshire Times of September 26th 1941 reported the following:

    The death took place suddenly on Monday at his home in Ampthill Road, Bedford, of Squadron-Leader William Kenning Birch, O.B.E., R.A.F.V.R. He was aged fifty-one. Squadron-Leader Birch studied at St. Mark's College, London, and later at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, where he took his M.A. He was mentioned in dispatches in the last war, for his services with the R.A.F., and was awarded the O.B.E. in France. In 1923 he joined the R.A.F. Education Corps.

    F/Lt (Pilot) Caradoc BOWEN-DAVIES - 33302 - the Graves Registration Report Form gives his unit as 41 O.T.U. The Western Mail of June 7th 1940 had reported the following:

    Reported Missing: Now in Hospital
    Flight Lieut. Caradoc Bowen-Davies, Cardiff, who a few days ago was reported missing, is in a South of England hospital suffering from wounds to both arms and legs.
