Default RAF raid on Brest 1/2-7-41

Hi all, I would like to ask if anyone can let me know which units participated on this raid?

Bomber Command War Diaries - Middlebrook + Everitt stated there was despatched 52 Wellingtons, 2 Wellingtons lost (both from 149 Sq).

I know there was 14 from 149 Sq and several from 9 and 311 Sq but does not have the exact number. Also it seems to me there must be at all 4 sqaudrons involved to get 52 planes at all.

    Any details much appreciated

    TIA

    Hi Pavel

2 Group didn't operate Wellingtons in 1941 they were equipped with Blenheims

    Hi chaps,

    once more opening this post:

there are different numbers from different sources:

if I count well there were dispatched 43 bombers from 3 Group for Brest.

But why Bomber Command War Diaries - Middlebrook + Everitt stated there was despatched 52 Wellingtons?

It means there is "missing" 9 planes from another unit or they were sent to another target?

Anyone has additional info on that night?

    TIA
