    There is a John A Harding age 21 in the Oxford District for that quarter. best candiate from EngWal index. There are no returns on Scotlandspeople site.

    No sign of Browning in EngWal or Scotland, our databases have changed a bit since we first looked over these.

    The late publication of Browning I thought might show him up in a 1942 registration but no! Might be some confusion there with him being a foster son, might be registered under another name or something.

    AC2 John A. HARDING - 1291115 - the Manchester Evening News of October 3rd 1941 carried the following announcement:

    ROLL OF HONOUR
    HARDING - AUSTIN JOHN HARDING, R.A.F.V.R., beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. P. HARDING, Llandudno, N. Wales, died on active service October 1941.
