I have a graduation photo of my father's air force group, which might be from No. 1 Manning Depot in Toronto. The photo is titled RCAF Flight R. Most of the men are AC2s so would this be before they were assigned to a b&g/nav or initial flight school?
The CO is W/C E.G. Macpherson and the photo was probably taken in the fall of 1943 or thereabouts.

Hi David, MD was the first instance where the airmen were accepted to the RCAF. Most of them were AC2, only the group or section leader were LAC.
