    Default No 4 Works Squadron

'No 4 Works Squadron, No 35 Flight' was at Manston in late 1942. Can anyone tell me what would have been their function?

    Thanks,

    Bruce

Works Squadrons were renamed Airfield Construction Squadrons sometime in 1943, and the latter name gives a clue as to their role. It was inolved in maintenance and construction work, and when the name change occurred so did the numbers. These units' numbers became 5001, 5002 etc

Amrit, thank you. That fits perfectly with the situation at Manston.
