Default 1539 BAT Flight South Cerney

As part of my research I'm interested in 1539 Beam Approach Training flight at South Cerney. I was looking through Chorley Vol. 8 yesterday and found the flight isn't listed at all. Has anybody any further details about it, or can advise where I may be able to go for more information? I spent an abortive hour trying to make sense of NA records but I'm afraid I'm always defeated by it!! Thanks in anticipation,
    Regards

Hi Max - National Archives reference is AIR29/877 No. 1539 Beam A.T.F., South Cerney and Bibury 1943 Apr.- 1945 May. A search on 'South Cerney' and 'AIR' brings up all the files connected with this Station.

Thanks Chris, I obviously haven't worked out the right buttons to press with the NA, I tried South Cerney and Bibury last night and got 15 hits for the former, none for the latter, but all political answers from the last 20 years or so!

Excerpt from an old edition of 'Aviation News':

    No.1539 BAT Flight

Formed 15.04.43 at South Cerney, affiliated to No.3(P)AFU
Moved 13.07.43 to Bibury, then 05.11.44 back to South Cerney
    Disbanded 01.06.45

There are similar entries for all other BAT Flights

Thank you very much for those dates, it solves a query that I had arising from the data on the Control Towers site which only gives the April to July dates, but the guy I'm researching was there in May 44, obviously at Bibury.
