    Default War Graves

Probably been asked before: What is the American version of the CWGC site?

    Best Wishes.

    Default www.abmc.gov

Its the ABMC American Battle monuments Commission

    www.abmc.gov

it is different however in that it only lists those who were buried overseas or who are recorded as missing. Next of kin of American service men and women coudl choose to have their loved ones returned to America or otehr chosen country for burial. My own great Uncle was killed in 1918 with the AEF but his remains were shipped back to Ireland for final burial in 1922.

    Read their FAQ page:
    http://www.abmc.gov/faq.php

There is this site also which combines the above database with others
    http://www.wwiimemorial.com/

But it is a poor substitute for a proper government database. Those not recorded by the ABMC have little if any unit records attached, etc.
