You could obtain the form 1180 crash card from RAF Museum or get a copy death certificate for one of the crew members. The death cert. MAY have the precise location stated.

    Default r2461

    hi henk welting
this is correct number according to (http://www.couplandbell.com/marg/crashes1943.htm)

14/11/1943 Beaufighter R2461 of 63 OTU struck the ground at night after instrument failure at Astwood Bank. Pilot Sgt G J Hopkins and observer Sgt A G Bestel were both killed

do you know how i can find the crash site ,i have been pointed to shurnock court astwoodbank, but local knowledge is very confusing , have come up with two other crash sites .

the date seems to be different also but only by one day
there is also reports of a hurricane crashing nearby aswell

thankyou for any help and ideas
