Dear All, this pilot was killed on this date, can anyone say how he met his death and which squadron he was with please?

Would it be likely he was the same airman, though as a Sgt, who piloted Hurricane P2887, 55 OTU which force landed near Whitby, Yorkshire on 20th March 1941? His service number on the AM1180 for the Hurricane appears to be 921992 but its bad to make out.

Any help appreciated, regards Rich Allenby

His commision notice in the London Gazette confirms the enlistment number.

Gazette Issue 35671 published on the 14 August 1942. Page 3 of 6

To be P/O on Prob. (Emergency)
    Flt/Sgts
    22nd May 1942
921992 Lancelot Wolfram Roy ROGERS (126718).

His death aged 31 is registered in the Bristol registration district so I would suggest he may have died of natural causes or a non aviation related accident. I can;t find him on the Flight Magazine Archives but he may be in The Times.
