    Hello

AC1 James HORAN - 1074006 - the Newcastle Journal & North Mail of Wednesday October 29th 1941 reported the following:

    R.A.F. FUNERAL
A combined posse of Blaydon and Winlaton Home Guards and members of the R.A.F. formed a guard of honour and six R.A.F. men were underbearers at the funeral yesterday of Leading Aircraftman James Horan, R.A.F., son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Horan, of Maple Road, Blaydon, whose interment at Blaydon Cemetery was preceded by Requiem Mass at Blaydon St. Joseph’s Church. Horan, who was 20, was killed last Thursday in Wilts, when he was run over. He was a fitter at Vickers-Armstrong before joining the R.A.F. eleven months ago. A fortnight ago he was vocal soloist at a Home Guard social at Winlaton while on leave.

    Regards

    Simon
