A - Died on active service:
F/O William A.F. ALDERTON - 61146;
AC2 Albert E. BLAKE - 1465559 - age 38, and
AC2 John J. CAMPBELL - 1249550.

B - Killed on active service:
LAC (Pilot u/t) Gordon D.H. EDWORTHY - 1271382.

C - Proposed aircraft losses for this day:
Anson I - N4884 - 9 AOS - crashed in forced landing Fort Bellam, near Llandwrog, Caernarvon.
Hurricane I - P3644 - 55 OTU - crashed in forced landing Stagshaw Bank near Corbridge (88/9867).
Master I - N8065 - 8 FTS - dived into ground near Edzell.

LAC Edworthy was killed in the 8 FTS Master, the ORB records a different serial number, but that was a Tiger Moth.

October 24th 1941, “1271582 LAC (Cadet) Edworthy, G. killed in Master aircraft T8065 whilst night flying at Edzell. Machine crashed and burst into flames just N.E. of the aerodrome. Accident investigated by S/Ldr Irvine on 27/10/41.”

I don't have anything from the No.9 AOS or No.55 OTU ORBs for the forced landings.

Hi Henk
Alderton,30, registered at Chippenham, Wiltshire. His death is not registered until the 1st Qtr of 1942. It seems a long delay, but he was cremated and this normally requires the cause of death to be confirmed by 2 Doctors and he may have been the subject of a Coroner's or RAF Inquiry,
Blake,38, registered at Wenlock, Shropshire. This may indicate a death at Cosford Hospital.
Campbell,25 registered at Preston, Lancashire

Hurricane I, P3644, flying accident at Nr Stagshaw, Northumberland.
Pilot P/O RH Rose RCAF-J6816 uninjured. Cause of accident due to reserve tank cock in the "Off" position.
