    Default Operation PANDEMONIUM

    Gents,

No.3 Group carried out a experimental raid on the 16/17th July against the U-Boat yards at Lubeck, code named “Operation Pandemonium” The plan called for the groups Short Stirlings to take-off early evening and fly at low level across the North Sea in formation until a point where crews using cloud as cover could carry out individual attacks on the target.

Does anyone know the exact targets, ie individual yards in Lubeck or damage if any caused.

    TIA

Did this take place, or was it just a plan? Perhaps early in the service history of the Stirling? It seems to me that any such raid would have been well-publicised, and be remembered in BC folklore. If only for how not to do any such thing.
