    Default Unaccounted airmen - 2-11-1941

What were the places of death registration for following airmen whose names couldn't be found in Flight archives:

    AC2 Hugh McN. CAMPBELL - 988171;
    Cpl Hugh A. LEIPER - 617593, and
    LAC Nigel K.W. TAYLOR - 752720.

Proposed aircraft loss for this day:
Tiger Moth II - T7330 - 4 EFTS - flew into ground mile W of Riplingham, Yorkshire.

Regards and thanks for your help.
    Henk.

    Default Unaccounted airmen - 2-11-1941

    Henk,

Sadly I cannot help with Tiger Moth T7330, this is also a blank in my list as well.

I have the aircraft as stalling, and spinning into the ground a quarter mile south of village.

    regards Rich

From Col's prompt, Leiper and N K W Taylor are both DOAS in the Dec 11th Flight magazine.

Hugh McNaughton CAMPBELL aged 21 : death registered in the district of Alva, County of Clackmannan, Scotland. His death record did not indicate he was RAF but his parents names correspond to that recorded in the CWGC site so I think you can assume this is the same person.

    Hello

AC2 Hugh McN. CAMPBELL - 988171 - the Statutory Deaths Register on the Scotland's People website recoards that he died at 0.05 a.m. at Greenhead, Alva, due to a rupture and haemorrhage of the right popliteal artery.

Cpl Hugh A. LEIPER - 617593 - the Liverpool Daily Post November 25th 1941 reported the following:

    CORPORAL DIES AFTER FOOTBALL MATCH
Mr. A. V. Cunliffe, deputy coroner, returned a verdict of "Misadventure" at the adjourned inquest at Warrington yesterday, on Corporal Hugh Alan Leiper, aged 21, R.A.F., of 20 Museum Street, Warrington, who died suddenly while home on leave.
A post-mortem revealed death was due to a haemorrhage of the brain, but without injury to the skull. A colleague in the R.A.F. said Leiper met with an accident while playing football at the camp station, which caused him the leave the field.

    Regards

    Simon
