    Default info?

my great uncle, F/Sgt Richard George Davies who flew in 106 squadron and was killed on 2/3 May 1942 over Denmark. His Manchester L7399 was shot down and all but two of the crew were killed. the crew; F/Sgt William L. J. Young, Sgt Graham Wale, Sgt Richard G. Davies, W/O Alexandre C. Bryce, Sgt Henry MacLean, the survivors were; Sgt Harold Kendall and Sgt Akert E. Hanks.

Does anyone have any information about the survivors and if so their whereabouts today?

Anyone with any information, pictures or memories of him would be much appreciated. I have done as much investigating as i can, there is a website with the details of the crash: http://www.flensted.eu.com/194215.shtml

    Default Manchester L7399

    Hallo Michael

My uncle was F/Sgt WLJ (Lewis) Young, a pilot of the Manchester in which he and your great uncle, F/Sgt Davies died in May 1942. I have no information about the survivors except that I once heard that Sgt Harold Kendall was living on a farm in North Yorkshire in the 1980s. I think I picked that information up from the 106 squadron museum and I regret not having pursued it at the time. Lewis created a photograph album which includes a few pictures of RAF colleagues. There is a remote possibility that some may include your great uncle.

    Kind regards

    Bill Young

    Default Picasa Photograph Album

    Hallo Michael

Here is F/Sgt W Lewis J Young's photograph album in case anyone is able to recognize your great uncle in the RAF group shots towards the end, around December 1941.
