Hi all, I am a new member to this forum. My Dad served in the RAF Regiment from its inception, through to 1946, having been on Ground Defence at RAF St Athan during the Battle of Britain.

I work near London Southend Airport that served as Rochford during WW2 and was virtually first point of contact in Essex for bombers flying up the Thames. It was bombed several times.

In local cemeteries are several RAF personnel with ranks such as Aircraftsman, LAC etc, which would lead me to think that they were not aircrew. There are no Squadron numbers quoted on the CWGC website search. Is there any research source that can point me to the circumstances and details of non-aircrew death in the RAF? I appreciate the an ORB of a station is unlikely to give too much detail having tried to follow Dad's service history.

many thanks
