Default Air Britain Serials Query - "T2962", possibly?

    Hi all

Is there / does anyone have please an Air Britain Serials book covering "T" serials?

If so, can someone please tell me what it might say for "T2962"?

Having trouble deciphering an ORB serial entry. Could T2962 have been a 311 (Czech) Sqn Wellington Ic that was shot up by a night fighter and crash landed back at East Wretham on 29/3/1942 (P/O Bala)?

    And info gratefully received.

    Thanks

    Ian

    Ian:
T2962 was a Wellington Ic according to Bruce Robertson's British Military Aircraft Serials.

T2962 Wellington Mk.Ic 57/311/21 OTU Engine cut, hit tree in forced landing, Llangrove,, Monmouth 7.7.42 DBF

So it certainly would fit, depending upon the damage in the crashlanding. I can't find other 311 a/c in the same batch that were written off on that date

    Default (t)2962

Thanks chaps. Looks like that's it.

The ORB simply gives the serial's numbers (a bit faint but I'm pretty sure it says "2962" plus the a/c code letter (which happens to be "T" as well).

I can try to look back in the ORB when next at Kew but it looks likely it was T2962.

    Another one off the list.

    Cheers
