    Hi Bruno
I don't have details of what caused his death, but his death is registered at Fakenham, Norfolk which would be the right area for an incident at or near Langham (524 Sqn's base at the time). The Sqn were flying Wellington XIVs.The "failed to return" can't be literally accurate as his body was recovered to be taken to his wife's home town for burial. I hope this is a start.
    Regards
    Dick

Default Crash of Wellington F for Freddie on 26.03.1945

I have just come across this thread.
I am a relative of Flt Sgt Frederick Harris and am keen to contact relatives of the crew. In the family archives there is a letter from Squadron Leader A H Comfort DFC giving details of the crash. I have just completed the history of Wellington R1374 which crashed near Nantes in 1941 in which Sgt Harris' eldest brother was killed and would like to do the same for the crew of F for Freddie. I would appreciate any information.
