    Default Unccounted airwoman and airmen - 17-11-1941

    What were the places of death registration for:

    A - Died on active service:
    AC2 Roland H. BELLAMY - 1577026;
    AC2 James EWEN - 1368083;
    AC2 Eric TAYLOR - 1437143, and
    ACW2 Kathleen M. THRESHIE - 882841.

    B - Not found Flight archives:
    P/O (Pilot) Archibald W. BLACK - 102081 - 91 Sqn (Hawkinge, Kent) - presumed flying a Spitfire coded DL-W, and
    Sgt Arthur T. JAMES - 848459 - 912 (Balloon) Sqn (11 BC, Brockworth, ceased to be mobile 2-7-1940).

    Sgt (Pilot) Joseph J. LAMMIN - 1375987 - 151 Sqn (Hurricane/Defiant Coltishall, Norfolk) - missing and commemorated on Panel 47 of the Runnymede Memorial.

    Only can come up with Hudson I serial AM750 of 1 (C)OTU, overshot landing at Silloth.

    Regards and thanks for your help.

    Hi Henk
    Bellamy,19, and Taylor,19, registered at Marylebone, Central London. Might mean an Air Raid
    Kathleen M Threshie,25, registered at Bridgenorth, Shropshire
    James,42, registered at Bridgend, Glamorgan, S Wales. Not easy to see a tie-in to his unit which was N E of Bristol in S Gloucestershire and some distance away. His home was Birmingham
    Ewen is buried in Edinburgh and did not come up on the register so may have died in Scotland
    Black did not come up either but I note he is commemorated at Runnymede. Franks, Fighter Command Losses records that he FTR from a "Jim Crow" patrol in Spitfire Vb, AA731 and has no Known Grave, such deaths rarely,if ever, get registered
    Regards
    Dick

    Thanks Dick for info on death registration. Forgot to mention in my thread that BLACK was on the Runnymede Panel. Thanks as well for info on his Spitfire serial AA731. I've Franks' FCL (first print) and Black is listed only with sqn-code 'W'.
    Best regards,
    Henk.

    I can see no mention of Ewen on the Scottish registers but might be a spelling issue.

    No further known about Lammin's aircraft. Listed missing bel;ieved Killed in Action in the Cas Comm.

    AC2 Eric TAYLOR - 1437143 - died only seven weeks after joining the RAF. He was taken ill and spent seven weeks in hospital before he died.
    (Derbyshire Times, 28 November 1941)

    Seems similar to Bellamy.
