    hello Bertrand,

Would, in the context of your airman, Maryland Repair Unit make sense ? This unit was formed on 1st May 1942 at Burg El Arab. Redesignated No. 4 (Middle East) Aircraft repair Unit on 15th May 1945.

Mobile Repair Unit? A suggestion from placing the letters into the UK National Archives search engine.

AIR 51/18 More informationMobile repair unit (MRU): equipment 1944 Apr-Aug

During the man posting was he in the UK or in Africa?

    Gents,

All good guess work but it refers to repair of the man not aircraft.

    R.A.F. Medical Rehabilitation Unit, Loughborough later No. 3 M.R.U. 1942 - 1946.
