    Default Transit Camps - identification

    Dear friends,

I need your help with identification of these transit camps:

Transit Camp "Broken Hill" Lusaka, Zambia

Transit Camp situated in or near by Kisumu, Kenya. This camp was situated somewhere around some RAF airfield where were RAF airmen waiting for air transport to Egypt.

    TIA

    Default Transit Camp

    G'day

Zambia did not come about until independence on the 24th of October 1964. Up to that time it was known as Northern Rhodesia.

    Cheers...Chris

There is a Broken Hill just north of Lusaka, it is now called Kabwe and is a mining and rail centre. It is the capital of the Zambian central province. There is a photo of the town from 1944 posted by an Alanw - could he be one of our members?
