Saunders was the pilot of Magister T9823, his passenger survived.

December 5th 1941, “P/O Saunders lost his life in a flying accident in the late afternoon 16.30 he ran into high ground while the clouds were low at Ashbourne his passenger Mr R. Paine escaped uninjured.”

The 19 EFTS Tiger Moth was a non-fatal accident.

December 5th 1941, Alford, “Accident to Tiger Moth T7243, forced landing.”

Hi Henk
Frisby,24, and May,21, registered at Brixworth,Northamptonshire, and the right area for Denton(N6968)
Glaisher,22, registered at Thanet, Kent.On the register he is down as Anthony J D Glaisher.
Lees, 54, registered at Taunton, Devon,
Raley,21, registered at Ampthill, Bedfordshire and on Warner he is recorded as killed on N6172, flying into the ground after his artificial horizon failed at night.

Hello Henk,
Hurricane I, W9199 on 5-12-41 had F/A at Ovingham, Northumberland. Pilot Sgt L Burtnick RCAF R80233 seroiusly injured. Pilot carrying out unauthorised low flying and struck ground.

I cannot see an entry for Hurricane 1, P2795 crashing on landing on 5-12-41.

Hurricane I, N2662 had F/A at Pelton Village(?), Co Durham on 5-12-41, Pilot Sgt DJ Lenehan RCAF R73226 killed. Cause suspected internal glycol leak.

Hurricane I, V6793 had F/A 3 mls West of Holy Island, near Berwick-on-Tweed on 5-12-41.
Pilot Sgt CW Ollett (Canadian) uninjured. Cause pilot forgot to turn on main tanks after he had started engine.

Glaischer is listed DOAS Flight mag 22nd Jan 42
May is KOAS in the same list as Frisby. Scanned and printed as L.A/C. D. O. May; Raley is in the same KOAS list

No sign of Lees but that not unusual for these older airmen and officers.

Sgt James R. GILMOUR - 1365007 - 250 Sqn (flying Tomahawks from Martuba 4, Libya) - killed 5-12-1941 and buried Acroma, Knightsbridge War Cemetery.
Missing same date and same unit Sgt Edmondston P. GREENHOW - 1059800 - commemorated Column 243 of the Alamein Memorial.
Looking for Tomahawk serials; only could find for this day AN 347 (pres. shot down by Bf 109s near El Adem).

Hi Roy & Henk,

I have three entries for P2795 crashing, neither with fatalities, here goes:

09.07.41 Aircraft crash-landed at Ouston. 995692 Sgt Alexander Charles Comfort OK.
21.10.41 Aircraft overshot and collided with Hurricane P3718 on landing at Usworth. 54487 Sgt C Mehrhof RCAF OK.
05.12.41 Aircraft crashed on landing at Woolsington. Pilot OK.
