    Hi All

I had a file (no doubt, courtesy of a contributor to this Forum) listing production and status of the above’s aircraft

Unfortunately, it was not at all helpful in respect of the Mosquito in which I was then interested as it merely recorded “DZ431 FBIV 540 Missing 16.7.43” with the result that my most informative report to date is that kindly supplied by von Shagmeister on 16 June 2006

Even more unfortunately, the file has since become damaged and as it was such a valuable source of info I should be extremely grateful if someone could assist me in replacing it

    Regards,
    Aubrey

    Aubrey, Hi,
I've got a list of all the DH Mossies. I don't know where it came from (I copied the text without noting the source - Tsk, Tsk!). It's a fairly common list. It's only about half a mb big so if nobody wants to play with you in a day or so then send me a PM/email with yr email address and I'll attach it to the reply.

    Hi Peter and Al

Thank you both for your very speedy responses as a result of which I have downloaded the required file

The good thing about losing something is the pleasure that one gets on either finding or replacing it

    So thanks again

    Hi Andy

Thanks for your input which confirms, as I suspected, that the source of my info was F.540 and F541

    Hi All

Having found Andy's posting late last night I immediately sent a "Thank you" and, in doing so, made an incorrect statement

This morning, I turned up von Shagmeister's response on 16 June 2006 and find that he reported:
"On 16 Jul 43, F/O Mann and P/O Liquorish (Observer) took off from Benson in Mosquito DZ431 to make a photographic reconnaissance of Turin and area S.E. of Alessandria, but failed to return"

As his info was more detailed than that provided by the ORBs he obviously got it from another source

My apologies - particularly to von Shagmeister

    Regards,
    Aubrey

I spent 7 years at grammar school wondering who were the guys on the plaque in the school hall:
