    Default Nos.504 and 616 Squadrons

Flying Officers Bill Mackenzie and Jack Ritch flew Meteors with No.616 Squadron and are generally accepted as the first Canadian jet pilots. I am wondering if there were any further RCAF personnel in No.616 before the end of the war, or in No.504 Squadron which was operational on Meteors by March 1945.

If anyone has access to the ORBs of either or both of these units, I would appreciate your assistance. RCAF personnel are easily identified by service numbers that begin with a C or R or J (as in R239446, C19999 or J54309).

    Hugh,

I checked for the 616. The ORB doesn't give much details on the service numbers (neither for the first names). Ritch appears once for this promotion to Flight Lieutenant with his S/N J.2223. So if there are more Canadians serving in the 616, it is not the ORB which can help. May be the appendices I don't have.
I don't have either the 504 ORB. Sorry.

    Phil
