Default Flying Officer K H Smith

    Hi,

On 21st January 1941 P/O H K Smith was posted in to 263 Squadron from 56 OTU. On 26th he was posted out to 247 Squadron.

The CWGC has a Hubert Kenneth Smith (88714) as being lost on 7th April 1942. No unit is mentioned but he is noted as being a Flying Instructor. He is buried at Swindon (Christ Church) Burial Ground.

The LG has Hubert Kenneth Smith commissioned as P/O on 12th December 1940. Promotion to F/O came on December 1941.

Can anyone confirm that Hubert Kenneth Smith is the same H K Smith that served with 263 and 247 Squadrons? Also what unit was he in at the time of his death and was he posted to that unit direct from 247 Squadron?

Just noticed title of post is wrong. It should read H K Smith.

    Hello Alex
All I can add is that the death of Hubert Kenneth Smith was registered at Cirencester.
    Regards
