Default Arnold Jean Baecke 127 Squadron

Belgian Pilot Arnold Jean Baecke was hit by flak and killed while flying a 127 Squadron Spitfire(SM246) on an armed recce in the Deventer area on 1 April 1945.
Post war his remains were returned to Belgium and buried in the Family Grave at Ostende.
Does anyone know where he was initially buried.
    Regards
    Andy

    Thank you Alain
However am I correct in thinking that The Reichswald Forest War Cemetery was created after the War when burials were brought in from all over Germany by the Graves Concentration Units.

Prehaps I may write to th CWGC and see if they have any information.
Does anyone have any experiences in this avenue of research?
    Regards
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

I'm intrigued. Back in Sept, 06', Henk posted the following:-

    Andy,
For BAECKE I've: buried Bevergern (Germany), reinterred Reichswald Forest War Cemetery (Germany), finally exhumed and reinterred at Oostende (Belgium).
Cemetery name/location at Oostende not known.

    Henk.

It was the penultimate posting on the thread. Did you miss it ?

Incidentally, I have Spitfire XVI SM246, for BAECKE.

    Col.
