    Hi
The latest edition(2007) of the book quoted by Col has substantially the same information except that the authors don't seem quite so confident as to the disbandment of the unit. They have it as "by 6/44 in the Middle East.Fate unknown".Sadly for Alain they do not mention any a/c types at all
    Regards

No doubt the reason that no aircraft types are quoted is that this unit (and other similar units) had no aircraft, as they comprised the largish ground organisation which was necessary to control the complex business of safely moving large numbers of aircraft of all types over fairly hostile territory. My ten cents worth.

    Hi All,

Several of the Ferry Control units mentioned in my ref. had aircraft, e.g. 2(ME) FERRY CONTROL . Anson I; Blenheim V (BA293); Beaufighter I (X7810); Wellington I (HD976); Hurricane IIb (HL894).

Whether they were on charge of the unit, is not stated.

Thank you all for your answers, would have been possible that these unit served to ferry Senior Officers, or "visitors" like Churchill when he came in Egypt in 1943 ??

    Alain.
