    Hi again,

    Can some kind soul provide information in the form of my previous posts, as in:

    Base;

    Aircraft Flown/Flown in;

    Serial No and Code;

    Possible Crashsite.

    Hi Steve
    Not a lot, but from Jefford-RAF Squadrons, at the time 274 were flying Spitfire Vb's and were based in Egypt at Idku about 30 mls E of Alexandria, but they did have 2 detachments, one at Paphos on Cyprus and more relevant to you,I think, one at Madna on the E coast of S Italy about 30 mls N of Foggia and probably Matthews t/o point at the time. By the end of Feb '44 they were back in Egypt and the list of stations seems to show their progress in the UK to convert to Tempest Vs and become part of 2nd TAF or possibly the initial defence against the V1.
