    Hi again.
Just picked up on this thread as the navigator of LR421, Leopold MOODY is now the subject of this weeks research into our local town war memorial near Preston, Lancs., England.
Have read through thread and obliged for the information on the circumstances. Having some difficulty in tracing MOODY's family line, though there are a number of hints on 'Ancestry', of which I am awaiting replies. MOODY had a son, 1942, but not traced him yet. Widow re-married post war and moved to Devon where may have had two/three other children. No photo yet, awaiting visit to newspaper library. Photos exist of Llewellyn Jones and wife (of Preston, Australia) visiting Preston Lancs. in 1928. There was a High Street in Preston, Lancs, but now the inner-ring road. MOODY was born near Oldham, Lancs. but family appear to have originated from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, with Irish mother. MOODY was a former police officer (clerk) at police headquarters before enlistment and is remembered on the police HQ and local town memorials. Suspect both parents died 1943 in Blackpool, Lancs. Wife and 2nd husband died Devon 2015. Still on-going. Tried link to AWM for details/photo of F/O Irwin but without success. Maybe site address changed by now.
Phillippe and Kurtl, what are your interests in this crew?

Hi Chris. Thanks for the prompt reply and photo link. Successfully downloaded. Would there be any text/correspondence in the AWM file?

Cheers Chris, can't thank you and the other contributors enough. It is really appreciated.
Have spent all evening downloading and filing Irwin's records into my bundle. Just wish our MoD would release similar records. Had one Ancestry reply, but relative too distant and no knowledge of our F/O Moody. Ongoing. 90 pages now misc. information about our two flyers. Should top the 100 when we trace Moody's relatives.
    Again, thanks to everyone.
