    5556 was a Hurricane, I expect you mean Battle L5556. From my notes, this was with No. 9 B&GS from November 1942, and was still with this School when it crashed at Mont-Joli.

    A lot of RCAF records at the time would refer to RAF style serial numbers with just the last 3 or 4 digits, it can be confusing.
