B - Killed on active service:
F/Sgt (WOp) Derek A. BOOTH - 637476 (looking for his unit as well).

C - Not found Flight archives:
Sgt (Pilot) Terence C. JUNG - 1169110.

D - Proposed aircraft losses for this day:
Beaufort I - L9796 - 5 OTU - dived into ground 1 mile SW of Bideford, Devon (already as a casualty on this a/c: P/O [Pilot] T.D. DAWSON - 101009).
Beaufort I - N1025 - 5 OTU - flew into ground 3 miles E of Braunton, Devon (already as a casualty on this a/c: Sgt [Obs] H.N. SMITH - 1052893 and F/Sgt [Ag] D.W. PIKE - 645182).
Botha I - W5019 - 8 AGS - crashed on take-off Evanton.
Hurricane I - V6609 - 56 OTU - crashed in forced landing Mores Farm, Long Sutton, Lincolnshire.
Lysander II - L4779 - 41 OTU - crashed in forced landing Stockbridge, Hampshire.
Master III - W8763 - 1 FTS - crashed on overshoot at night Shrewton (already as a casualty on this a/c: S.Lt/A [RN] D.G. TOMPKINS).

is the scanned group, you can see the scanning error that misses Jung above.

This lot are a puzzle as none of them comes up on the register. It may be that they all were on the Botha that crashed in Scotland as they are all buried in England near their homes.

I tell lies!! Readhead,34, is registered at Bridgend,Glamorgan I mis-spelled the name the first time by missing the first a.

Thanks Dave. Was Barnstaple also the registration place for Sgt (Obs) Harry N. SMITH - 1052893 and F/Sgt (Ag) Douglas W. PIKE - 645182, both killed on Beaufort N1025.

Hi Henk,

We are still looking for one more on N1025.

The 1180 gave pilot as Jung but went to to say:

Crashed about 3 miles east of Braunton, North Devon while taking off for a Navex at 00:45 hrs. It was thought that the pilot leaned forward to set the course on the compass and allowed the aircraft to go into a shallow dive. All 4 onboard were killed.
