Default Lancasters sent to Trappes 2-3 June 1944

I am inquiring about the Lancaster involvment in the force sent to Trappes 2-3 June 1944. I know the total force was 128 aircraft made up from 1, 4 & 8 Groups - 105 Halifaxes , 19 Lancasters and 4 Mosquitos.

Could someone tell me the 1 and 8 Group Lancaster squadrons and which ones were the pathfinders. Thank you.

    Default Trappes

    Hello,
I have just seen Your postings in March 2009.

My father, a norwegian, was bomb aimer and set operator in the crew of S/L Edward John Chidgey from 35 sqn. They acted as Deputy Masterbomber on the night of June 2-3rd 1944. They flew in the same capacity on the night of May 31st to the same target. My guess is that the Masterbomber came from 35 sqn as well as they were often sendt out in pairs.

Their aircraft at the time was Lancaster ND 916 coded TL-F.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards
