    Default 3010 Servicing Echelon

My grandfather,as far as I know, was part of 3010 Servicing Echelon sometime in 1941 possibly at RAF High Ercall.Does anyone know what flying squadron they serviced the planes for at this time? I don't think it's ORB has survived,as I can't find it on the NA catalogue.

    Thank you in advance

This info comes from a book "RAF Flying Training and Support Units" published by Air Britain.

3010 SE was formed at Honiley on 14/11/41 to service the a/c of 257Sqn (initially Hurricanes and then Typhoons) so essentially the unit followed 257Sqn around the UK: 6/6/42 High Ercall; 21/9/42 Exeter; probably Jan 43 to Warmwell (additional responsibility for 266Sqn); 12/8/43 Gravesend; 18/9/43 Warmwell; 17/1/44 Beaulieu; 31/1/44 it was absorbed into the HQ of No. 146 Airfield/Wing part of 2TAF.

As far as I know Servicing Echelons did not complete an ORB (I have never seen one). You might find references to the unit in the ORBs for 257Sqn or for RAF Stations/Bases.

Edit: If ORBs are available they would be in AIR 29. There does seem to be a handful of Servicing Echelon ORBs in AIR 29 but they do not seem to include 3010 they seem mainly to be for units that served overseas.
