Default F/Lt George Garrett Davidson RCAF J4931

    Hello everyone,
As a P/O 'Dusty' George Garrett Davidson J4931, from Brantford, Ontario, came to the UK some time in the summer of 1941. Could anyone say where and when he did his Spitfire OTU training please.
He was posted to 412 sqn at Digby in Autumn 1941 through to approx. September, 1942. During this period he made several claims on the following dates.
18-5-42 1/2 -Ju88 damaged shared with P/O RA Ellis on a 'Jim Crow' shipping recce.
    26-7-42 1 - Fw190 probable on Rodeo 81.
    1-8-42 1 -Fw190 destroyed & 1 - Fw190 damaged on an Interception patrol.
Does anyone have the a/c serial numbers and code leters for the above ops please.
19-8-42 - Flew in Spitfire Vb, BL589 on the Dieppe Raid..
Soon after this op 'Dusty' helped a fellow sqn pilot who was on a night exercise when all instruments failed. He took off and guided the stricken Spitfire down safely. Info on this required.
As a F/Lt he moved to 401 sqn at Biggin Hill in September,1942, but soon after volunteered to go overseas to 126 sqn at Luqa, Malta. On 14-11-42 while on a sweep to Sicily and Tunis was shot down off Pantelleria in Spitfire Vb(T), EP310 and listed MIA.
Does anyone have the a/c code for EP310 please.
    Any help gratefully accepted,
    Roy

He arrived in Bristol on 24 May 1941 on the Jamaca Producer, age 23, Pilot Officer, Adress was c/o RCAF London.

He was travelling alone as such, it was not a military shipment by the looks of it.

    Hello John,
Thank you for confirming that 'Dusty' claimed 1-Fw190 probable on 26-7-42 in Spitfire Vb, BL589,the same a/c he flew on the Dieppe Raid. I wonder if this could have been his usual mount?
Thanks John, if you have anything else on 412 sqn during this period I would be most interested.
    Regards.
    Roy
