Default F/S Don Kennedy and W/O Douglas Mann

    Hello,

I came across some photos from an American archive, showing the rescue of two airmen from the North Sea.

Anybody who can assist me in finding details of aircraft, circumstances of loss and crew?

That is what I have from the back of the photos:

F/S Don Kennedy and W/O Douglas Mann (Beaufighter crew) rescued after harrowing eight days in rubber dinghies in the North Sea.

Skipper of rescue launch was F/O Ross.

    Regards

    Many thanks Ross,

Now I can give their names a story. I can see Henk discussed this loss back in 2006.

    Hi Henk,

I've not examined this in any depth so for the moment the only details I can confirm are the ones given in my post i.e. date, take off, op area and return to hospital.

    Regards
    Ross

Doug Mann was my father. Roy Nezbit wrote a book "Strike Wings" there is a chapter designated to this incident. Would they be any way to view these photos.

    Regards
    Ian Mann
