    Hi All,

    A friend has asked if I can find anything out on the following RAF serviceman, in particular how he died.

    Name: FAIRGRAY, NELSON
    Initials: N
    Nationality: United Kingdom
    Rank: Corporal
    Regiment/Service: Royal Air Force
    Unit Text: 84 Sqdn.
    Date of Death: 28/02/1945
    Service No: 633556
    Additional information: Son of William and Mary Fairgray.
    Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
    Grave/Memorial Reference: Column 452.
    Memorial: SINGAPORE MEMORIAL

    I tried all textbooks I have but can find nothing, can anyone help please?

    FAIRGRAY,Nelson - 633556 - 84 Squadron - Held Java, Singapore, Borneo(Jesselton, Sandakan) - Died probably Sandakan - 28.2.45 - Named Kranji Memorial.

    So,It looks like he died on that march and was buried in an unmarked grave somewhere.

    Very sad!
