    Default LAC John Edgar MAYO RAFVR Died 6/12/1941

    Hi

    I am trying to find the circumstances regarding the death of 1319848 LAC John Edgar MAYO RAFVR died 6 December 1941. Also listed as Killed on Active Service. Commemorated Runnymede Memorial Panel 290 Addenda.

    I can't find him listed as died in England or Wales.

    Hi Mark,
    He was on Anson N9886 of 6 AONS; hit truck on take-off and crashlanded Staverton. Also killed P/O (Pilot) Rudolf GRZEGORZ - PAF P.0919 and LAC Joseph H. RYALLS - 1239961. This is confirmed in the Polish book "KU CZCI Poleglych Lotnikow 1939-1945". Probably Mayo's grave lost hence listed on the Runnymede.

    It was more I couldn't find him listed in the English Death Register that made me wonder, if he had been missed of some lists ! Or more likely spelling mistake !

    He's listed under the first quarter (Jan-Mar)of 1942, registered in Gloucester.
