Default Search for Grandfathers military history

    Hi Ladies & gents,
I am aware that this is not the right forum, but success was achieved on an earlier question I posted.

This siall I have on him.....

Georg Henry Dickinson, RQMS, Northumberland Fusiliers
    Born 1902
    Choppington Northumberland
    Died 1949 Seatonburn aged 47.

He was a RQMS with the Northumberland Fusiliers,
was involved with POW's in Ireland & used to drill recruits at bedlington drill hall when on leave.
He was sent home from Germany with a cough in 1949....he died a very short while after comming home.

can any one help please for information on Service Record, battalion, medal entitlement, etc

    Thank you

    Chris

    This would be a start:

    http://www.veterans-uk.com

Veterans UK website and it seems to be the latest up to date information for all services veterans.

    Chris,

You might like to try the Great War Forum at:

    http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php? .

I've found the forumites very knowledgeable about WW1 - very much like this forum, just a different era.
