Hampden AE348, 408 Sqn - 9-11-1942
[Head should read 1941]
This a/c crashed near Westkerke (West Vlaanderen), 9 km SE of Ostend, but apparently the cause was not identified. Has anyone come across it or a member of the crew in their research?
The crewman I am interested in is P/O John Cayley Wilson but the rest of them were:
P/O E.B.Te M. Robertson RNZAF KIA
Sgt D.F.W. Norton KIA
Sgt D.V. Markall KIA
Errol, do you have the RNZAF fellow on file?
I just found him in CWGC

Thanks Errol, that's very helpful. Another FTR on my list has been located. How did you get the info about the cause of the crash?
Also, I notice his parents have quite common English names but he must have Maori in his family, with his middle name. Or was it a case of Anglicizing the name when in fact they were Maori?
