    Thanks Dennis.
Yes, EDMONDSON was 25-2-1942 and erroneously mentioned in this thread. Excuse for inconvenience.
    FYLDE or FLYDE - what's correct ?
Have ROBSON and AISBETT and also F/Sgt Donald K. SWAIN - RCAF R/77513 on Hampden I (converted Hereford I) N9090 of 5 BGS (Canadian source for Swain: 6 AOS).
    Regards,
    Henk.

    F1180 confirms 1 fatality, 3 injured on Botha I - L6539 - 10 AOS.

The pilot (Sgt Dixon) and nav were not strapped in.

Thom as W/Op u/t looks like the fatality but the death cerificate gives cause as fractured skull and a location some 5 miles from that shown on the F1180.

It looks likely that the F1180 location is a rough position with the death certificate giving a more accurate location.

    Regards
    Ross

    Ross,
Can confirm Thom on Botha L6539, one of many who lost their life on Cairnsmore.
