    Default A G Sheffield, 2SFTS, 1940/41

    Morning Guys,

Another trainee pilot from 56 Course. Any ideas on what happened to him? I have no further details of this guy. Can anyone add anything from Chorley, etc.

    Thanks for your continued help.

    Regards,

    Nick

Hi Nick, nothing in CWGC, but from a quick search of the LG we find:

W/O Allan George Sheffield (1164822) Appointment to commission 30th May 1944 and renumbered 176663.
    Promoted F/O 28th November 1944.
DFC with 625 Squadron announced in LG 12th December 1944
    In the LG of 18th March 1947;
    Forfeiture of seniority.
    Flying Officer A. G. SHEFFIELD, D.F.C. (176663)
takes rank and precedence (with effect from 18th
July 1946) as if his appt. as Flying Officer '(war
subs.) bore date 18th July 1946.

Can't confirm this is the same man as you do not have a service number, but there is a good chance it is.

    Cheers, Tom

    Guys,

Bringing this back to the top.

Allan George Sheffield was at 2 SFTS, Brize Norton before going to Winnipeg, Canada, to train others and then bomber command then fighter command.

    Interesting history.

    Can anyone add anything?

    Regards,

    Nick
