    Default K Lister, 2SFTS, 1940/41

    Morning,

Continuing my research as to the fate of the trainee pilot from 56 Course, 2SFTS, does anyone have any ideas on what happened to/have further details of a K Lister? I have no further details of this guy. Can anyone add anything for me?

    Thanks for your continued help.

    Regards,

    Nick

    Hello Nick,

a quick look on CWGC brings up no K Listers killed, but a search of the London Gazette brings up a Kenneth Lister (1252690) who was commissioned from F/Sgt on the 21st July 1942 and renumbered 139030. The LG also announced the award of the DFC on 22nd August 1944 while serving as a F/O with 34 Squadron.

Have a play with the london gazette and you will get his dates of promotion etc:

As before i cannot confirm this to be the same chap, but it's possible.

    Cheers, Tom

    Guys,

Just to close the circle, this is the right chap having found a copy of his service history in the archives at Hendon.

Sgt. Ken Lister (1252690). Who trained with Ken Fenton at 2SFTS and 13 OTU, went on to serve with 21 Squadron at Watton in Norfolk flying Blenheims before going onto serve in Egypt with 21 Squadron until August 1941 and then 84 Squadron in December 1942, before joining 34 Squadron in January 43 until October 1944.

Just in case anyone is following this thread.

    Regards,

    Nick

Where abouts in Hendon did you find this? A once off document or a series, is it from a log book?

    Guys,

What Hendon does have is a wealth of donated material, some historical, some memories and log books. There is not a lot but l was very luck to find notes "Dad at War", by Ken Lister.

I copied his training period but no more, as this was my field.

I was lucky, trawling the many records, the name sprang out at me.

But who put this info there?

    Regards,

    Nick
