    Default Cpl Monk Raymond 953211

    Cpl Monk Raymond 953211 RAFVR died on 7/05/1945 , he is buried at the Heverlee War Cemetery in Belgium. Who can help me with some more info on this man.

    Alain,
    GRO gives unit of Monk, as Bircham Newton? at time of death, also buried at Heverlee (plot 1A1)and with same date of death is Clara Carter of Auxilliary Territorial Service, 457 Battery mixed HAA, might be a connection.

    Hi Alan,

    Thanks for the reply , indeed Mrs Carter died the same day as Cpl Monks. Probably they died at the British Field Hospital in Heverlee Belgium.

    He is listed as Died On Active Service (DOAS) in Flight casualty lists Jan 17th 1946. List 559.
