    Hi Henk
Bantock,21,registered at Salisbury, Wiltshire as is Gardiner,29. It may connect them
    Siddron,20,registered at Wharfedale, W Yorkshire
Smith, 21, registered at Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset
Rees,22, registered at Neath, Glamorgan,S Wales
    Sherrin,21, registered at Biggleswade.Bedfordshire
The most likely Edward Williams I found is aged 39, registered at Ploughley, Oxfordshire which is close to Benson where his RAF Regt Sqn was based, but it was in the 2nd Qtr of 1942

    Henk

a possible candidate for the deaths at Salisbury is Lysander III, R9029 of 41 OTU which crashed somewhere on Salisbury Plain on this day.

    F/Sgt S A Gardiner is in Fligth magazine May 14th 1942.
Fit. Sgt. S. A. Gardner; note they do not have the 'i' in his surname, searched for S. A. Ga

If you go back to March 18th, there was a casualty in Ploughley district also, William R Clark, perhaps they were connected?? But Clark was KOAS and Edwards in DOAS.

Wellington L4265 of 15 OTU crashed at Mount Farm on this day. (18/3/42)

Chorley records the deaths of CG Wiley and CG Riedy and the injured WJD Carter. The two deaths are registered at Ploughly in the second qtr of 1942. Dick notes that Williams was also registered same place and qtr. A connection?

    regards

Theres an AC! E 'G' Sherrin DOAS in the May 28th magazine. Scanned as A/C.l E. G. Shenin No E G on CWGC so a typo in the old Flight magazine.

Gardiner was KOAS, i never mentioned in my message last May!!

I checked the injured listing for W J D Carter and none of the other two Ploughly names appear with him.

Wiley and Reidy being Canadian, TSNGO shoud mention how many other crew were with them.

    Dennis,
Allison no info on crew. TSGNO for RIEDY: "Wellington W4265 (must be L4265, Henk) swung on take-off and collided with Hudson N7332. The Wellington became airborne, then stalled, crashed and burned at Mount Farm. Sgt WILEY was killed in the Wellington and F/Sgt RIEDY was killed in the Hudson".
As we know, Chorley has both on the Wellington and a Sgt W.J.D. CARTER injured.
    Regards,
    Henk.
