    Default Unit - ACAC, Blackle?

I have two aircrew who flew with a relative (Therkelsen) in 460 Sqdn during the summer of 1944.

The two airmen are Sgts 1863453 F.R. FREST (Flight Engineer) and 1581685 V.E. WEST (Rear Gunner), both RAF.

Both were posted from 460 Sqdn on 23 Aug 44 (tour expired) to a unit which appears to be "A.C.A.C., Blackle". Unfortunately the scan of the ORB is not overly clear.

Does anyone have an idea about what that unit might be? I haven't been able to find anything.

    Hello Adrian,

Brackla, near Nairn in Invernesshire. It was the hutted camp of ACAC, Air Crew Allocation Centre, a clearing house for tour-expired aircrew.
