    Default bomload Stirling

    Can anyone tell me how many 500lbs as stirling would hold beside 2x2000lbs?

    Appendix 4 of "The Stirling Story" by Michael Bowyer is devoted to the bomb load of Stirlings, but you must understand it also depends on the distance of the target (i.e. the amount of fuel needed).
    On the 3rd page of the the appendix, the author explains there are 12 loading cases specified, ranging from a 2000 lb load to a 14000 lb load, but I can't see any combination of 2000 and 500 lb bombs. The author anyway concludes his appendix : "Numerous changes in possible loads for the Stirling were made once it had settled in to service [...]".

    Thanks, I have to check the records then, how it was possible that they were found on the same location
