    Default Unaccounted airwoman and airmen - 26-3-1942

    What were the places of death registration for:
    Sgt (Pilot) Edmund R. BAGGOTT - 1197405;
    ACW2 Ira E. JONES - 443785, and
    LAC John G. LOGAN - 632192 - 949 (Balloon) Sqn (Grasty Lodge, Crewe),
    whose names I couldn't find in Flight archives.

    Proposed aircraft losses:
    Blenheim IV - V5798 - 51 OTU - crashed in forced landing Cranfield.
    Blenheim IV - V5932 - 51 OTU - crashed on landing Cranfield.
    Blenheim IV - R3808 - 54 OTU - crashed on overshoot at night Church Fenton.

    Regards and thanks for your help.
    Henk.

    I would suggest that Baggott was killed in the No.54 OTU Blenheim, I don't have an entry from the ORB on this date but did find the following from the previous month.

    February 16th 1942, “There was another accident, again caused by swinging off the runway, this time during take off. The pilot was No.1197405 Sgt E.R. Baggott, and the aircraft a Blenheim IV which was considerably damaged.”

    Warner says of R3808 'Sgt E Baggott (solo pilot) killed'.

    Hi Henk
    Jones, 22, registered at Liverpool North
    I didn,t find Logan but CWGC has him as coming from Belfast and buried in N Ireland so it could be that he died at home on leave
    Warner has no entry for Al's Feb incident but does have Martin's entry in Mar. He has no fatalities on the other 2 Blenheims but for V5798 records Sgt H Ferris as slightly injured and for V5932 records Sgt K McCormick injured. 5798 was a landing accident after which 5932 ran into it with both a/c DBR.
    Baggott's death is registered at Tadcaster,W Yorkshire the right area for Church Fenton but they have him as Edmund R Baggott
    Regards
    Dick

    Sgt. E. R. Baggot KOAS , flight published only one t in his name.

    L.A/C. J. G. Logan; is listed DOAS in Flight May 14th magazine

    A/CW.2 I. E. Jones; DOAS July 14th 1942 Scanned as A/CW.2 I. E.'Johes;
    For the WAAF when you can't find them easy, search for the women only and visually check the entries, there is always only few names.
