Default Squadron Leader Donald Jack FREEMAN, RAF VR

I am researching the 5 year RAF service history of Squadron Leader Donald Jack FREEMAN, 76 Squadron Flight Commander 1944-1945 who spent a considerable amount of time as a flying instructor before joining an operational squadron in June 1944. It is said he was known as "Maxie Freeman" I have a few things that need explaining and would be grateful if anyone could help:-

    1) What is "11 CTS, Hereford" and what was its function ? (one week course in 1941)
    2) What was the function of the "Beam Approach School" ? (two weeks course in 1941)
    2) What date was he Commissioned? (no service number known)
    3) What date did he retire in 1945 ?

These are all known postings in chronological order:-
