    Looking for the details leading to the loss of the following airman.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    WHITMORE Robert Andrew. Flying Officer 123047, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve died 9th July 1943 age 24. Son of Alfred and Margaret Ellen of Kings Norton, Birmingham. Buried at Ashbourne Cemetery, Derbyshire.

    All the above are registered dead in the Belper district, Derbyshire.
    Whitmore age 24 Nav Bomber
    Doe age 22 W.Op./Air Gnr.)

    Strongly suspect Whitmore (and others), aboard this aircraft:-

    9/7/43
    42 OTU
    Blenheim V AZ876

    Dived into ground 3 miles west of Belper, Derbyshire. Cause unknown.
