    Default 65 Squadron Airman

Charles Maurice BARBER, pilot with 65 squadron, died on 7-6-1942 and is recorded in Cambridge. His death was shown as 'Died of Wounds or Injuries Received on Active Service’. The squadron was flying Spitfire's which from mid April was out of Great Sampford, Essex.

I would like to know the circumstances leading up to his death.

    Many Thanks
    Martyn

Thanks Col, that's a good one. It seems the most likely given the date being one day before he died.
The aircraft was only with the squadron for a couple of days before the unfortunate accident.
I wonder if we can get confirmation.

    Thanks for your work
    Martyn
