Default 98 Sqn Graves at Hanover War Cemetery

    Hello,

just found the following two graves at the Hanover War Cemetery.

Does anyone know the circumstances of their death?

    F/L (Pilot) A P Mountain 13.A.4
    F/L (Navigator) C H Brown 13.A.3

The burial listing shows their death with 23.09.1946.

    regards

    Steve

I believe it was Mosquito MM185 when engine failed to unfeather, lost height and flew into trees Weeson near Fassberg (details from the Mosquito list)

The aircraft loss is mentioned on the 98 Squadron site but not the crew.

    Hello Amrit,

thanks for your opinion. I think you're right. The correct spelling of the town the Mosquito crashed is Weesen, 7km SW Faßberg.

    regards

    Steve
